Biography

Paul Hart (born 1961 in Deal, UK) is a British landscape photographer known for long-term analogue projects that explore the cultural and environmental relationships between humans and the land. Working exclusively in black-and-white using large and medium format cameras, he prints all work in his own darkroom. His acclaimed Fenland Trilogy—Farming (2009–15), Drained (2016–17), and Reclaimed (2018–19)—documents the landscapes of East Anglia and has earned international awards including the inaugural Wolf Suschitzky Photography Prize (2018). Hart studied at Lincoln College of Art and later earned a BA (Hons) in Photography from Nottingham Trent University in 1988. He currently lives and works in Lincolnshire, and his photographs are held in major public and private collections.
