Biography
Cathleen Naundorf (born 1968) is a prominent German-French contemporary artist and fine art photographer celebrated for her cinematic fashion and haute couture photography. Her signature style relies on large-format cameras and anachronistic Polaroid films, capturing the creations of legendary fashion houses like Chanel, Dior, Valentino, and Jean Paul Gaultier. Mentored by the iconic photographer Horst P. Horst, she transitioned from a decade-long photojournalism career reporting on indigenous cultures in the Amazon, Siberia, and Mongolia into becoming one of the most elite backstage and fashion photographers for Condé Nast, Vogue, and Harper’s Bazaar. Her works are held globally in prestigious public and private collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
