Shinryo Saeki’s “Aisatsu” (Greetings) presents a vibrant and occasionally humorous look at the cycle of life and death in contemporary Japan. Bound in bold red and white—colors traditionally symbolizing birth and death—the book compiles color photographs taken over a decade. Saeki, a practicing Buddhist monk, uses his unique perspective to capture the mysterious, invisible moments where “what is fading interacts with what is just beginning.” The monograph features text by Shihoko Iida and art direction by Hikari Machiguchi.
