Pictures for Charis is a ten-year project driven by Kelli Connell’s fascination with Charis Wilson, the writer and partner of Edward Weston. Retracing their travels through the American West, Connell combines her own portraits of partner Betsy Odom with Weston’s classic studies, creating a dialogue about gender, desire, and the photographer-sitter relationship.
