2020-MMXX is a visual exploration of Rome during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Commissioned for the Collezione Roma, Max Pinckers utilized multiple analog cameras operated simultaneously to capture a single moment from various perspectives. This “multiple-angle” approach deconstructs the illusion of singular spatial reality and questions the concept of the “decisive moment.” The resulting images depict a city in limbo, focusing on introspection, boredom, and the subtle human interactions that persisted through the silence of the lockdown.
