Bedknobs and Broomsticks is the inaugural volume in Alec Soth’s Little Brown Mushroom series of “photographic storybooks for grown-ups.” Inspired by the classic Little Golden Books, Trent Parke takes the reader on a surreal, stream-of-consciousness journey from “Down Under.” The book features 21 high-contrast black-and-white images interwoven with dream-like verse. The physical object is a custom side-stapled hardcover with die-cut boards, presenting a haunting exploration of Parke’s domestic world and personal imagination.
