Parliament is an artist book and exhibition catalogue published for the Ukrainian Pavilion at the 2017 Venice Biennale. Directed by Juergen Teller, the book documents Boris Mikhailov’s “Parliament” series, which focuses on the media representation of political discourse. By photographing scrambled and distorted television broadcasts of parliamentary sessions, Mikhailov creates a vibrant, abstract visual language that mirrors the chaotic nature of contemporary politics. The volume also includes a “backstage look” captured by Teller, documenting the production of the series and the unique creative bond between these two influential photographers.
