A Pound of Pictures

Embossed linen hardcover with tip-in Hardcover English 156 pages 25.3 x 31 cm 1.34 kg

Description

In “A Pound of Pictures,” Alec Soth brings together an eclectic sequence of subjects to reflect on the photographic desire to pin down experience. The title was inspired by a vendor Soth met who sold photographs by the pound, leading him to consider the accumulated weight of history and time within images. The book features high-production values characteristic of MACK, including three different paper types and a marbled Japanese stock. Each copy includes five randomized replica photographs, making every book a slightly unique physical object. It concludes with an extended afterword of Soth’s own notes and reflections on his creative journey.
